for bringing me into this world, for teaching me to sit and stand and walk and run, for giving me the foundation of values that you have, for all the love, for all the care, for standing by me through everything, for holding me whenever i fell and telling me it's okay to fall as long as i got up and walked again, for the hugs when i need them the most, for putting into me all that you have, for every push (and every pull), for being there, for YOU, thank you!
the first person i touched, the first person i felt, the first name that i say in a moment of happiness or sadness, mumma....i love you. i never really understood a mother-daughter relationship like i do today. i don't know if it would be right to call mom my best friend but i do know that there truly is no one like mommy. there have been times we've both felt like we are just not "happening", times where tensions were so high, you could actually feel it, times when i felt like i wanted to run away, times when i felt like we were just so different, how could we even be related? now that i've been away for a little over three months, i realize just how special this relationship is. it has no definition, no rules. it's a relationship that has no expectations, a relationship in which what is just is. despite all the faults and all the weaknesses, there is no need of trying to understand. it just happens. you just know. i wish i'd understood all of this earlier, maybe things would have been different then. but then, maybe it wouldn't feel the same. :-P i think this is one relationship that we all take for granted but there comes a time when we realize it's one relationship that lasts through everything and still comes out bright and shining. your mom is one woman who deserves all the love in the world, give it to her.
dad's been my pillar of strength (literally and figuratively!)....he still is and will always be. pa's creativity, the way his mind works....untiring, wheels turning all the time, bursting with new ideas and new possibilities, helping me see the dreams that i do and then giving me the strength to make them real. someone who tells me to talk to him about whatever i go through just so that i can lighten up and run faster once the emotional baggage is shed...he's one amazing guy. i can't list like i can with mom, the various facets of the relationship we share. it's just......special. fathers and daughters is something else!
just want to let you know, i love you the mostest and i always will. you are the bestest (it's called the superlatives superlative =D) and no matter how old i get, i was, will and will always be your little baby.
