it's all about the love. the love you have for you :) in my month, one week and three days of living away from home, i've learnt a whole big lot....and i'm still learning.of all that i've learnt, there's one thing that stands out. and that is exactly what Joey Mcintyre says in this song.
people in life come and go. change, as is said is constant. most of the time, what you and i tend to do is take life as it comes. we don't realize how important it is for us to be able to connect with ourselves first to be able to connect with the world and appreciate everything it has to offer. i've learnt in this little time i've been away, that the most fundamental need of life is neither food, clothing or shelter but falling in love. unless you fall in love with yourself, over and over again, you're not going to be able to appreciate the song of the birds or the taste of rain. on a dark, gloomy day, all you have to do is find the sunshine within you and then you'll see how amazingly beautiful everything else feels.
you and i are storehouses of love and happiness, whether we realize it or not. the stupid mistake we make is that we're looking outside of ourselves to let this love and happiness out. look within you and remind yourself that before you give anyone else the love that lies inside you, fall in love with yourself.
when i say fall in love with yourself, i don't mean become an egotist or a self obsessed individual who can look at nothing beyond himself. all that i'm saying is learn to take control over your emotions and not to hand them over to anyone on a silver platter. take the time off to do the things you like to do. spend time with yourself. everyday. read, write, paint, sing, dance, talk to yourself, take a walk, listen to your favourite music, pamper yourself.....do everything you would do when you're in love.
sometimes when it's late at night and it gets lonely in hostel.....and i sit down on my bed with my laptop open in front of me...reading up on something....i crave for some company. at times like those, when moments seem so perfect to have someone to hold you close and give you a hug or for you to have an intimate conversation with someone in the dull light of the room....i snap back to reality, make myself a nice hot cuppa coffee, put on some music and enjoy the time i have with myself. and then i realize how good i feel...when i'm on a date with me! :)
so....the next time you're looking for love around you, look within first. you'll find the best person to fall in love with. someone who'll be there (really...in every sense of the word), someone who knows you best, someone who can never hurt you, someone who loves you as much if not more than you do and someone who'll be your sunshine on the gloomiest of days. fall in love with you and you'll come alive....and trust me, you'll be able to love a lot more than you ever thought you could!
